Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Agricultural Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Electric Systems
Photovoltaic (PV) is a solar power technology that uses an array of solar PV modules (panels) to convert sunlight into electricity. And most of Georgia is considered “very good” for solar PV installations according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). In fact Georgia is on par with much of Florida in yearly average solar radiation.
The most important requirements for choosing a site for solar PV are to have a southern exposure to the Sun and no shading issues. Solar PV modules can be roof, ground or pole mounted; they can be designed into canopy systems or awnings. Or they can be integrated into the curtain wall of the building; this is called building integrated solar photovoltaic (BIPV). Most businesses are good potential candidates for solar PV.

Coal accounts for about 29% of the fuel mix used in Georgia by power companies to generate electricity. And nearly two out of every three gallons of freshwater withdrawals in our region are sent to electric power plants to meet cooling demands. About a gallon of water is consumed for every kilowatt hour of electricity produced by power plants. So with financial pressures and environmental concerns on the increase related to the production of electricity with coal-fired power plants, the cost of electricity from utility companies will continue to rise.
And because solar photovoltaic is becoming more main stream, the cost per watt of installed solar PV is expected to decrease. A solar photovoltaic investment is an effective hedge against rising energy prices. And solar energy is the ultimate statement of going green. Solar PV electricity production uses no fossil fuels, and it generates zero carbon emissions. It creates positive feedback from employees, customers, suppliers and everyone who interacts with a business.
A Web enabled data logging system comes with our solar PV systems. It is a powerful communications tool that allows the operating data of your solar PV system to be logged and easily transmitted via modem or Ethernet to the Web, to your PC or to a monitor for display to your employees and customers.
Due to economies of scale, the cost per watt would be even less on large commercial projects. This includes all material, shipping, installation and commissioning. Sales tax is not included.
